A hidden gem! We stayed in the Garden Suite for a few nights and honestly could not have asked for better. From the moment we booked we felt welcome and this continued throughout our stay. The accommodation was perfect for us - warm, comfortable and ideally equipped for our needs. Location wise it was great too, allowing us easy access to hiking trails in the Windermere and Coniston areas, as well as close proximity to some great places to eat out (and a great little cafe on site). Thanks to the offer of an impromptu guided tour, we also had the opportunity to see Swarthmoor Hall itself. Such an amazing restoration story and a chance to learn more about the Quakers. We've already talked about coming back next year, and will be recommending Swarthmoor Hall to friends as well.

I recently visited Swarthmoor Hall, and what a lovely experience it was! This charming little building from the 17th century is nestled just outside Ulverston, making it a peaceful escape. The rich history of George and Margaret Fell truly adds character, and I found myself fascinated by their story as I explored the quaint surroundings. The gardens are simply delightful—perfect for a leisurely stroll or finding a quiet spot to reflect. After some fresh air, I enjoyed a drink at their cozy café that offered an array of delicious cakes! Everything felt reasonably priced for such quality. Whether rain or shine, Swarthmoor Hall is definitely worth the visit!
