Just went to the cafe, house and garden. Cafe very basic but very comfortable with great staff plus volunteers. House extremely interesting and is a great introduction to the origins of Quakerism. Grey March day for our visit so much of the garment still dormant so will definitely go back to the garden in late Spring.

A hidden gem! We stayed in the Garden Suite for a few nights and honestly could not have asked for better. From the moment we booked we felt welcome and this continued throughout our stay. The accommodation was perfect for us - warm, comfortable and ideally equipped for our needs. Location wise it was great too, allowing us easy access to hiking trails in the Windermere and Coniston areas, as well as close proximity to some great places to eat out (and a great little cafe on site). Thanks to the offer of an impromptu guided tour, we also had the opportunity to see Swarthmoor Hall itself. Such an amazing restoration story and a chance to learn more about the Quakers. We've already talked about coming back next year, and will be recommending Swarthmoor Hall to friends as well.
